AI customer service pricing: compare the billing unit first.
Checked November 5, 2026. Current pricing snapshot, not a newly observed price change.
Published unit prices help only when you also understand what triggers the bill.
What the vendors publish
| Product | Published AI rate | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Intercom Fin | From $0.99 per outcome | Outcome definition, included workflows, and any minimum commitment |
| Front Autopilot | Starting at $0.39 per conversation | Conversation definition, plan requirements, and quote conditions |
Sources: Intercom pricing and Front pricing.
The interpretation
The lower published number does not establish the lower total cost. These products describe different billable events.
Fin's pricing page includes outcomes where a customer stops asking for help. It also includes certain completed procedures with handoffs.
Front lists Autopilot separately from its seat-based plans. Confirm its billable conversation rules before calculating a comparable total.
Use this in a buyer conversation
- Ask for a written definition of a billable event.
- Check what happens when a human takes over.
- Include seats, minimums, channels, and add-ons in a full estimate.
- Apply both models to the same sample of your actual support traffic.
These are our suggested checks. We have not tested either product's billing or resolution performance.
The next step for product marketing
Keep billable-event definitions beside headline prices in your sales comparison sheets. Date the source and recheck it before external use.
